After seeing the last incident under Anthony Taylor, Chelsea fans were convinced that Taylor has an agenda against the Blues.

This even led to a petition going around and demanding for Taylor to be banned for officiating Chelsea games.

In a contact that saw Reece James unintentionally touch the ball with his hand thus leading to a goal block, Taylor didn’t only hand Liverpool a penalty but he also sent Reece James off with a straight red card.

Chelsea luckily went on to draw the match, marking their first draw of the current season.

The Blues will be back in action today against Brentford around 5:30pm GMT+1 but concerns are all over the place with Taylor appointed to officiate the match.

Brentford is a very strong side and any little chance Taylor may present them could cause Chelsea major damage.

In reaction to the fears of the being officiated by Taylor once again after the Liverpool game incident, Tuchel said;

“I trust in the referees and I trust in Anthony Taylor that he will try to have his best performance tomorrow.”

“We cannot – here at Cobham and at the club – get lost in ideas that there is actually something behind it. We have to make ourselves free from this and do what we need to do to win this match.”

“Do we need a top referee? Yes. Do we need good decisions from VAR or none at all? Yes. Do we need a little bit of luck? Yes, and hopefully we can turn things around with Anthony Taylor.”

Thomas Tuchel has also joked that he is yet signed the Anthony Taylor petition but could do so after the Brentford game, he stresses his players must not think Taylor has an agenda against them.
