The Blues couldn’t materialize a win against a weaker Juventus side who have of recently been struggling to win matches in their local league
It’s the second time Chelsea lost 2 games consecutively as they failed to get back to winning ways after coming off a 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
After seeing a goalless first half, Chelsea fell to an early goal right into the second half and failed to hit an equalizer despite a clear chance coming to Romelu Lukaku.
Although not really a worrisome loss as Chelsea did win their last UCL game and also it was on Juve’s home ground, Tuchel did take his time to reveal why his boys fell to the defeat.
Speaking on the loss, Tuchel said to BTSport Football; “[It is] impossible on this kind of level to concede a goal like this in the first seconds of the second half.”
“We had ball possession, high recoveries but two crucial ball losses. You can’t have this on this kind of level. We struggled to create our own rhythm and find our own intensity. It is not easy.”
“We can maybe accept ball losses in the last 20 meters, we were lacking runs. We were so good yesterday in training but not good enough, not free enough today.”
“We started not sharp enough. We had possession. The first 12-15 minutes, we could have charmed them much more. We could have been sharper, upped the rhythm. We should have asked more questions.”
Chelsea will take on Southampton on the second of the coming month with hopes of returning to winning ways.
