According to Thomas Tuchel one of Chelsea’s main players won’t feature against Southampton
The Blues prepare to tackle Southampton today after coming off Juventus loss where Chiesa provided the only goal.
Chelsea clearly did struggle for goal against the Old Lady and Tuchel is keen to put a stop to this struggle.
Blues will take on Southampton later today as they look to make up for their loss against Manchester City that saw the Cityzens overtake them on the league table.
With Tuchel set to meet one of his old friends, Ralph Hasenhuttl who is now currently Southampton manager after both men spent years in Bundesliga, the former PSG manager shared an update confirming N’Golo Kante will miss action today.
“We played each other I’m Bundesliga and now here,” Tuchel said of Ralph Hasenhuttl. “He’s very friendly, very nice, very humble, very entertaining. The team he trains, high intensity, very aggressive and on a high level. They have a very fast team, and very good results…”
Kante missed the last game through Coronavirus complications and is set to sit out today while the squad take on the Saints.
Speaking to the press, Tuchel confirmed the team would be without Kante when they take on Southampton today.
“It’s not on single players [who are missing]. Of course we want Mason, we miss him, we miss N’Golo. But we can’t look at the players missing. Of course we miss James, Pulisic… we have a squad, a duty for me to find a solution.”
“For Mason, he is in the squad. He is back. It was a minor injury, we are happy he is back.”
“When I saw it I thought maybe Reece goes with the water polo teams as he is training in the pool. I am surprised. My understanding is that he will not go.”
