Petr Cech Suggests Rudiger Replacement Amid Uncertain Future Following £400k Per Week Demands

Cech believes if Rudiger wants to leave due to the wage issues then there is no point holding him back

The Blues could heed to Petr Cech’s advice and back off their pursuit to convince Rudiger into an extension after the German disclosed his want for a £400k-per-week pay.

According to Cech, 28-year-old despite having played a key role in his time so far in the club, should be the first person to understand when wages are talked.

Just like every Chelsea fans out there, it’s vivid that the former Chelsea keeper is of the same stance that believes Rudiger’s £400k-per-week demand is outrageous.

With his contract set to exhaust by the summer of 2022, Cech has urged Chelsea to push strongly to land Sevilla’s Jules Koundé by January when the transfer window reopens.

According to Cech, this could help assure the defense is in place incase Rudiger decides to leave any time before the end of his contract or even at end of his contract.

In an interview with talkSport, Cech shared his perspectives saying; “Rudiger has sure done great in the squad and hopefully he stays beyond his current contract.

“But this still doesn’t mean the club can’t pursue other defenders in the transfer market.

“There are several names in the market which even Jules Koundé happens to be a part of. He is a good defender too and last transfer window the club tried to sign him but didn’t happen.

“Rudiger wants 400k which I don’t think the club will agree to, but if they do then it’s also fine cause he is a good defender.

“But the club still won’t write off chances of him leaving at the end of his current contract so making alternative plans is a necessity here.
