Chelsea goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy has matched 30 Chelsea clean sheets after 54 games, becoming the only goalkeeper to have come so close to equaling Cech’s record.
Cech on how on reached the 30 clean sheets benchmark after 51 games which is just 3 games lesser than the number if matches it took Mendy to match this feat.
With Chelsea managing to hold off Brentford to a 1-0 victory, Mendy proved to be a superb keeper as he pulled off superb saves to stop the opponents from stealing a point.
Being a Keeper, Cech pushed for Chelsea to sign following Kepa’s foulers months ago, the Czech Republic star appears happy to see him succeeding at the club.
Speaking to talkSport, Cech said; “Mendy is an impressive keeper, he is always pulling off impressive stunts to amaze us.
“I am just happy that we succeeded to bring him to Stamford Bridge. He is a rare kind of keeper.
“Reaching 30 clean sheets in such a short time only tells you of how much better he is going to become.
“His focus during games is something many Keepers don’t have in them.”
