Even Mason Greenwood knows there are more chances of him getting a new role after Solskjaer spoke of Ronaldo playing in the box
Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford would definitely reshape many things at the club, including some players’ positions.
One of the few names that could undergo this change is the young and sensational Mason Greenwood who is ready to learn from the World Best player.
Prior Ronaldo’s arrival, Greenwood mostly play in the enemies’ boxes as United’s number 9 while Cavani some times do come off the bench to then push him to the flank.
But according to statistics, the 19-year-old has done better striking for United from the right flank as he prefers shooting from the flank.
For example, the hard fought victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers before the international break. United struggled for goals until Cavani came and Greenwood moved to the flank.
This saw the Red Devils take the lead from a superb strike from the young striker.
With such occurrences happening in the past, it’s vivid that Solskjaer must have taken note of where Greenwood does best from.
Speculations have it that the 48-year-old would make Greenwood play more as a winger from Saturday onwards.
There are now more chances of him taking on the flank as Ronaldo will mostly feature in a 2 man striking front along side Edinson Cavani.
Marcus Rashford is yet to make his return, meaning Jadon Sancho will also play from the flank.
Another player who will see a change is Paul Pogba who mostly played as left winger. Pogba will get to return to the midfield where he will be partner with Bruno Fernandes.
