United lock horns with the Magpies with Cristiano Ronaldo set to be handed a sensational second debut
The Red Devils will get back in action against Tyne based club, Newcastle United who moved into the international break with a 2-2 draw against Southampton.
United prior today have struggled of lately with disappointing draws and hard fought victories against mid table teams like Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But having secured a superb come back deal for the world best player, Ronaldo, United will be hoping to return to winning ways under Ole Solskjaer.
Ronaldo was handed a major boost after picking a yellow card on the night he netted the most international goals for Portugal due to having removed his shirt in a celebration.
This saw him handed more days to train ahead of a debut for the Manchester based side.
Speaking to the press, Ole said of Ronaldo; “He’s been having a good pre-season with Juventus, he’s played for the national team, he’s had a good week with us here. He’ll definitely be on the pitch at some point, that’s for sure.”
Jadon Sancho is another new name highly rated in the United squad following his achievements at Borussia Dortmund before joining his pals at United.
The youngster used to be a Manchester City forgotten man until he made the trip to Bundesliga and found his form before deciding to return to the Premier League.
Although having struggled on his first game for United, Sancho will be hoping to make the start against Newcastle after Ole confirmed his fitness despite having been pulled out England’s squad amid injury concerns.
“You always cross your fingers that they come back fit,” Ole explained to mutv. “They’ve all come back with a good mood, they’ve had some good results, there’s been some goals and those who have been here have worked hard, prepared well and of course, it’s an exciting game for everyone.
“Jadon has come back in and trained the last couple of days. He’s disappointed he couldn’t play for England but determined to be fit and he’s available. That’s a positive.”
Alex Telles and Scott McTominay are yet to be declared fully fit although both were caught on camera training with the squad. Solskjaer on his end also did confirm Scott could play, unlike Alex who is yet to be 100%.
“Alex is not 100 per cent,” said the manager. “He’s still a few weeks [away]. Scott has recovered very quickly from the operation so, if he’s going to play or not, I’m not sure probably not, depending on who we’ve got available.”
