The Red Devils prepare to take on Newcastle United when the Premier League gets back to action
Man United having secured epic come back for their ace man, Ronaldo is set to go head to head with Newcastle United when the Premier League gets back in action.
Ole Solskjaer has alot of stars to choose from after United secured sensational summer deal to land Jadon Sancho, Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Solskjaer has normally lined his stars in a pattern that saw Pogba fielding as a left winger and this has in some matches produced awesome results.
But having secured major signings for this role, it’s likely Pogba will be maintaining a permanent spot in the center of the pitch alongside Bruno Fernandes.
Below are possible ways the Red Devils could line up against the Magpies;
United could line up in this format against Newcastle United when the Premier League resumes after the International Break.
But in this format the 2 midfielders will be submitted to extreme hard labour in order to help maintain the game tempo.
With United having not signed any strong Defensive Midfielder, it could be a bit difficult for United to adjust into this format.
Should Solskjaer choose this mode then he could pick Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba for the midfield role.
While Bruno Fernandes pushes into the attacking zone to assist Edinson Cavani.
Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho now come in from both wings.
Ole Solskjaer could still use the traditional 4-3-3 against Newcastle United, accommodating both Pogba and Bruno in the center.
This could also mean role for forgotten man, Donny Van de Beek who will make up United’s 3 man midfield.
The Dutch man has mostly thrived paying in a three man center while he was still at Ajax and with Solskjaer turning to this setup, he could finally see game time.
This will now mean a one man front role for Edinson Cavani who will get major support from his two wingers, Sancho and Ronaldo.
There are also chances Solskjaer could try out Thomas Tuchel’s preferred formation, the 3-4-3.
Luke Shaw in particular has proven to be a workaholic and won’t be a bad idea handing him a more attacking role while still maintaining his defender duties.
Bruno and Pogba comes in the center while Wan-Bissaka joins from the right wing back role.
But more risk in this as both Pogba and Bruno aren’t Holding Midfielders so there are more chances of conceding goals.
Ronaldo and Sancho will join Cavani to make a three-man front.
The 4-1-3-2 looks more safer compared to the 3-4-3 and would involve probably Nemanja Matic.
The former Chelsea man will come in as a defensive midfielder while Ronaldo joins Cavani up front.
This would give United more attacking presence against Newcastle United.
This could be arguably the best of the setups as it would mean partnering Bruno with Ronaldo and Sancho in support of Edinson Cavani.
While Pogba partners with Matic from the center.
In this mode, United are more conscious with their defending while firing up the attacking line.
